In the four months since the Antitrust Law Blog was launched, the number of readers has skyrocketed to 50,000, up from 4,000 readers a month. It gets an unbelievable number of hits per month, it really is amazing. The blog still covers the same subjects as the newsletter antitrust developments at the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Department of Justice and international antitrust issues. But in only a few months, the blog has helped establish Shepherd Mullins reputation as the most comprehensive source of information on all international antitrust issues.
Law firms put out tons of marketing materials in hard copy. This is a much more efficient way of distributing material, and you obviously get a wider distribution.
-Robert W. Doyle, Jr., Head of Sheppard Mullin's Antitrust and Trade Regulation Practice Group as quoted in this June 8, 2005 article in the Arizona Capitol Times

Whats especially cool about blogs is that they are usually ranked higher than other kinds of websites.

LexBlog provides an invaluable service to lawyers who lack the time, talent or inclination to start up and maintain a blog by themselves.
I believe (and this is an unsolicited endorsement) that LexBlog provides an invaluable service to lawyers who lack the time, talent or inclination to start up and maintain a blog all by themselves. Thanks, all, for helping me find my inner blogger.

It's been working better than what we had hoped for. It has really exceeded our expectations.
It's been working better than what we had hoped for. It has really exceeded our expectations. We're not paying fees to the search engines or to the Web consultant to find the right keywords and other behind-the-scenes machinations to make sure we show up in searches. As for the payoff, within six weeks of launching the blog, the firm was offered its first referral case from an attorney who found the firm's information on the blog, and since then the referrals have continued to come.
