FCA Handbook Notice No.42

The FCA has published Handbook Notice No.42.

The Handbook Notice briefly describes the Handbook changes made by the FCA Board on 30 March 2017. It also describes changes made by the Board of the Financial Ombudsman Service to their rules and standard terms on 15 March 2017.

On 30 March 2017, the Board of the FCA made changes to the Handbook in the following instruments:

  • Training and Competence sourcebook (Qualification Time Limits and Qualifications Amendments) Instrument 2017 (FCA 2017/13);
  • Fees (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No.10) Instrument 2017 (FCA 2017/14);
  • Financial Services Compensation Scheme (Management Expenses Levy Limit 2017/2018) Instrument 2017 (FCA 2017/15);
  • Fees (Payment Systems Regulator) (No 3) Instrument 2017 (FCA 2017/16);
  • Supervision Manual (Reporting No 4) Instrument 2017 (FCA 2017/17);
  • Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules sourcebook (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No 2) Instrument 2017 (FCA 2017/19); and
  • Fees (MiFID 2 Application Fees) Instrument 2017 (FCA 2017/20).

The Handbook Notice also provides feedback on the following consultations that will not have a separate Policy Statement:

  • Consultation Paper 16/39: Quarterly Consultation Paper No 15 – changes to the Training and Competence sourcebook;
  • Consultation Paper 17/1: Financial Services Compensation Scheme – Management Expenses Levy Limit 2017/18;
  • Consultation Paper 16/39: Quarterly Consultation No.15 – changes to reporting requirements in the Supervision manual; and
  • Consultation Paper 16/39: Quarterly Consultation No.15 – changes to the requirements in the Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
