Levit & James to Launch Best Authority 5.0 and HyperCase e-Briefing Package, Both Integrated with Fastcase
LEESBURG, VA and WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 14, 2017
Legal software company Levit & James, Inc. has announced they have formed an alliance with national legal research service Fastcase, Inc. This joint effort will begin in early 2018, and serve to make large amounts of case law widely available at little or no cost.
Fletcher James, President of Levit & James, explains: “When attorneys prepare documents using the upcoming Version 5.0 of Levit & James’s Best Authority® software, they will have the option of adding hyperlinks to citations in the text and also to the Table of Authorities. Any person reading an electronic copy of that document will then be able to read the text of those Authorities online at Fastcase.com. Also, in the near future, Levit & James will be introducing HyperCase®, a new e-briefing package, which will allow them to automatically download and incorporate content from Fastcase.”
Both features will be useful for creating briefs for court filings, but also for analyzing opposition briefs and other materials. The process will be fast, accurate, and highly automated.
Ed Walters, President of Fastcase, noted that “We will provide hyperlinks for free to Best Authority users. Downloads will be free to Fastcase subscribers, and available to others via in-app purchase, the fees being much lower than from competing research services. But nobody reading a document will need to pay or register.”
