The Holidays can be a very stressful time of year from various events to making sure you have gifts for everyone to work demands to kids and their schedules and everything else that puts demands on your time. As the current year winds down it’s important to make sure you set aside time to recharge and take care of yourself. Here are 10 ways to recharge during the Holidays:

  1. Listen to Music. Whether you’re rocking out to Warrant or trying to find a station that doesn’t exist on Spotify, listening to music is a great way unwind.

  2. Cook. Stop getting takeout and try cooking a new dinner you’ve never prepared. Get your kids involved. Just don’t give them any knives…

  3. Volunteer/Donate. Giving back is a great feeling.

  4. Listen to a Podcast/Read a Book. Some quiet “you time” is a great way to unwind and recharge.

  5. Get some rest. Sleep in, take a nap (or three!).

  6. Do some low stimulation activities. Go for some walks or hikes outside. Try meditation or do some coloring or art activities by yourself or with your kids.

  7. Make sure you’re making time for family and friends/Cut back on work. The reality is you’re going to do some work over the Holidays. Just accept it BUT limit that to 25 minutes of work a day.

  8. Don’t let the things you NEED to do outweigh the things you WANT to do.

  9. UNPLUG from work related technology (other than the 25 minutes a day above in #7).

  10. Take a few minutes to reflect on your personal and professional accomplishments from the past year.
