Use Water Lock Mode to Swim with Your Smart Watch. I have never fully trusted electronic devices near water. I have a bad history of destroying smartphones with water. I once leaned over the toilet and dropped a perfectly good phone. Oops. No more phone. Another time, I destroyed a phone when my canoe tipped over. Oh well. So, you can imagine that, while Samsung tells me that my Galaxy Watch is 5 ATM rated water resistant, I don’t wear it in the shower or the pool. However, yesterday, I was in resort mode and the floating pool looked really inviting, so I threw caution to the wind and jumped in. Surprise, the watch handled it fine. Of course, today I find that I could have enabled the water lock command and disabled the touch screen while swimming. And I found a command that ejects water from the speaker by sending a loud sound out. Who knew? So, if you have a water resistant phone or watch, find out about the commands available to you, and swim away.
