Dropbox took a page from the Evernote playbook and decided to shoot itself in the foot or perhaps both feet. Users of the free Dropbox service are now limited to only three devices. Those users that currently have more than three devices will be allowed to continue to use the service, but will not be allowed to add any additional devices. Once you disconnect devices and fall below the threshold, you won’t be able to exceed three devices. New users will be limited from the get go. The move has really ticked off a ton of users. So much that users are migrating to other free storage services.

There are several free alternatives that are better than Dropbox. Google, Microsoft and even Apple are better alternatives.

How-To Geek has all the details about the listed free storage options. The intent of Dropbox is to get you to pay money instead of using the free storage. That’s where it shot the other foot. The three listed alternatives are better solutions even if you want to pay for additional storage. Bottom line…stop using Dropbox and move to a better storage solution.
