Most readers of this blog are familiar with the Appellate Judges Education Institute, an annual seminar devoted to appellate practice.  Don’t be distracted by the name.  AJEI has programs for appellate practitioners and staff attorneys, in addition to judges.

Registration for AJEI 2019 is now open. AJEI is an intellectual feast for lovers of appeals and, as you can see from the program available on the registration site, 2019 is no exception.  Topics will include effective writing and advocacy, legal theory, Dean Cherminsky’s ever-popular Supreme Court review, ethics, and a host of other issues.

AJEI is being held in Washington, D.C. from Thursday, November 14, 2019, though Sunday, November 17, 2019.  The opening reception will be held in the Supreme Court of the United States, and there’s no telling which occupants of the building might wander downstairs to see what all the fuss is about.  Time has been built in the schedule for attendees to enjoy Washington’s many attractions.  You need to be there.  Register now and avoid the rush!
