Having a chat with Churchill’s parrot and – at 114-years-old – one of Reigate’s oldest residents – Get Surrey. My good friend, Nestor Gorfinkel, sent me a magazine with an article about some famous parrots, for which I thank him. Parrots have a long history of saving human lives, tracking down criminals, acting as alarms, and being companions for us. Charlie, if you believe the stories, is the longest surviving veteran of World War II, and sat at Churchill’s side during the war, learning to curse Nazis. Charlie is over 100 years old, and, like all of us other old people, can be grumpy. This web post will tell you more. Enjoy.
