When Tom O’Connor reaches out and suggests that you might be interested in a resource he helped create, naturally, you check it out.

And what a find it is, indeed. I’ll let the description from Digital WarRoom speak for itself:

Introducing the eDiscovery Checklist Manifesto, your complete reference for everything a legal professional should consider as they conduct litigation and eDiscovery. This guide was written by Tom O’Connor – an renowned industry expert with Gulf Coast Legal Technology and Jeremy Greer – the Marketing Director at Digital WarRoom. Over time we plan to continue to update and iterate this document.

Frankly, if you’ve been meaning to get around to creating checklists, or documentation of the eDiscovery process, you could do worse than having a checklist compiled by industry experts like these to start from. I intend to revisit it as we create various processes for our clients, as a way to make sure we’re capturing everything that we should be, and asking all of the questions that need to be asked.

I highly recommend bookmarking it yourself if you think you may find yourself in a situation where you’ll need to do the same. It won’t provide all of the answers, no one could do that for every case, but it does provide an extensive list, with links to more information, of what answers you’re going to need as you go through the process.

As someone who’s gone through the eDiscovery process a few times, I can honestly say that there is always something that gets overlooked, or that no one had thought of. Checklists are a great way to minimize that risk. Here’s a good place to start working on yours:
