According to a recent report by the Federal Trade Commission’s Consumer Sentinel Network, credit card fraud has become the top form of identity theft in the United States, and globally.

Between Q1 of 2019 until Q1 of 2020, there was a shocking 104 percent increase in credit card fraud reports, which is nearly quadruple the amount reported from 2017-2019 altogether. This surge highlights the need for consumers to take a proactive approach in mitigating the risk of becoming victims of this type of crime through awareness and preventative measures.
