What Is Express Entry?

Canada’s Express Entry is used to manage applications for Permanent Residence under three federal economic immigration programs:

Provinces and territories can also recruit candidates from the Express Entry system through their Provincial Nominee Programs to meet local labour market needs.

Express Entry candidates will be ranked against others in the pool using a point-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System. You must have a score of at least 67 points out of a possible 100 Selection Factor criteria before you apply under the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Points are awarded using the information in their profile including work experience, education, age, and official language ability, among other factors.
