The Town of Hempstead is administering Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) applications on its web site for landlords and residents in the Town of Hempstead and their program does not have the same conditions as the general NYS program which was discussed in an earlier blog at:

The Town of Hempstead program has conditions which are more favorable to landlords:
“As a condition of Program Award, Landlords and providers must agree to (1) use the funds solely for the intended purpose; and (2) waive any late fees. In addition, landlords are also required to agree not to evict the tenant for non-payment of rent for the period covered by the assistance awarded and for a minimum of 30 days thereafter.”
