Owning an RV is like having small children. There is always something to do. Today’s project was to get rid of the ugly drapes that older RVs had, and which required an Olympic athlete to pull around the front of the windshield, and which were unsightly in the least. After searching many websites, all of which advocated pull down shades that required professional installation, and cost several hundred dollars, I had given up, when I had an insight. I got an ad online for sun shades like the ones for cars. You know the kind. You twist them and they pop into a large circular or rectangular shape. Best part? Cheap. I mean, less than $20 cheap. Then the side windows required something, and Diane found pull down paper shades for $10 each at KMart. Total cost…around $35, and 5 minutes to install. Here is a photo of the finished product. It isn’t perfect, but it is far more attractive than the ugly drapes, and was really cheap and fast.
