I ran across a piece from the North Carolina Bar Association Blog by a lawyer sharing her experience with isolation during the pandemic and how connecting with others made all the difference for her.
An article that’s relevant to lawyers across the country, not just North Carolina. But lawyers elsewhere have no chance of benefiting from the article. I saw it as I follow the North Carolina Bar on Twitter and they shared the piece.
State bar associations are sharing valuable insight for lawyers and other legal professionals everyday. Unlike the rest of us, State Bar’s have been in the publishing business since their beginning.
State bars, despite some budget cuts have some excellent reporters, editors and social media leaders.
In addition to talent and experience, these professionals have passion and care. Hanging with them, you can feel their love of the law and the profession as a whole. God knows, they don’t work for a bar association for the money.
Why not bring the collective publishing of bar associations together? Or at least the blogs which can be easily picked up via RSS feeds.
As part of LexBlog’s work backing the Open Legal Blog Archive, we’ve run across a good number of State Bar Association Blogs. I am sure we’ll run across many more in our continuing work to aggregate legal blogs.
LexBlog could put together a magazine or site much like Illinois Lawyer Now or Texas Bar Today. Rather than an aggregated display of lawyers’ blogs as with these sites, an aggregated display of articles from state bar blogs updated instantaneously with each post on any state bar association blog.
Available via a website, email updates or a RSS feed, the site would represent a heck of a resource for lawyers and bar associations, nationwide.
Stay tuned.
