On 21 October 2021, the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs) opened a call for evidence regarding the Regulation on packaged retail and insurance-based investment products (PRIIPs Regulation). The call for evidence follows a call for advice on the PRIIPs Regulation that the ESAs received earlier this year from the European Commission.
The ESAs are requesting information from stakeholders on a wide range of topics including:
- the practical application of the existing key information document (KID) and its use by financial advisers;
- the use of digital media;
- the scope of the PRIIPs Regulation; and
- the degree of complexity and readability of the KID.
The call for evidence is open until 16 December 2021.
The ESAs plan to hold a stakeholder event in Q1 2022 before their advice is finalised.
