- We advised Philippine Airlines Inc. (PAL) in connection with its pre-negotiated chapter 11 case which won Airfinance Journal’s 2021 Asia-Pacific Deal of the Year and Airline Economics’ 2021 Asia Pacific Restructuring Deal of the Year. We represented PAL as special aircraft counsel in its consensual restructuring, which was the first-ever pre-negotiated chapter 11 restructuring by an airline. Our cross border aviation and financial restructuring team representing PAL was led by Keith Sandilands(Singapore) and David Rosenzweig (NY) and included Fiona Henderson (NY), Katherine Fleming (Singapore), Francisco Vazquez (NY) , Selene Tan, Chloe Goodwin, Sophie Polisena (Singapore), Matthew Foos and Derek Cash (NY).
- We advised Castlelake in connection with Avianca Airline’s US$482 million sale and leaseback back transaction with respect to six A330 freight aircraft, which won Airfinance Journal’s 2021 Latin America Deal of the Year. The sale lease back transaction was a key component of Avianca’s chapter 11 plan of reorganization.
