On Thursday, February 9 at 2 pm CST, Cailee will discuss changes in adoption law, step-parent/related adoptions, red flags in adoption and more at the Chicago Bar Association’s “Back to Basics: Adoption Law Post-Pandemic” seminar.

She will join other attorneys to discuss handling the basic types of adoption that new practitioners may come across, as well as other relevant topics including:

  • Pandemic-driven changes to Cook County adoption court procedures
  • Cases to avoid
  • Representing same-gender couples
  • Adult adoptions
  • Representing indigent parents in contested adoptions

As part of DePaul’s Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center’s Adoption Law Awareness Week, Cailee was invited to share insights with DePaul University College of Law students about special immigrant juvenile status as it relates to adoption law.

The presentation will take place on Monday, February 13 from 12 – 1 pm CST.
