Stafford Rosenbaum and WilmerHale file motion for temporary injunction seeking allowance of absentee ballots for Wisconsin voters with disabilities

Last week, Stafford Rosenbaum and WilmerHale filed a motion for a temporary injunction in a new case seeking to ensure that Wisconsin voters with disabilities are able to cast their votes by absentee ballot. Wisconsin’s election procedures currently prevent some voters with disabilities from voting absentee on the same terms as other Wisconsin voters, and the plaintiffs, who include Wisconsin voters with disabilities and disability voting advocates League of Women Voters of Wisconsin and Disability Rights Wisconsin, are demanding that the court order the State of Wisconsin to provide the plaintiffs with absentee ballots in a format they can use independently and privately, just like other voters. This motion for a temporary injunction asks the Court to order that Wisconsin municipalities provide voters with disabilities an accessible electronic ballot, a format the state already provides to military and overseas voters.
