As a follow-up to our post on June 26, 2024, Breaking News: PAGA Reform Announced   – Tressler Employment Law Blog, on July 1, 2024, Governor Gavin Newsom signed the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) reform into law via Assembly Bill 2288 and SB 92. These bills modify California Labor Code 2699 and somewhat ease the litigation burden on employers. The PAGA reform caps penalties for quick compliance, expands curable sections for employers, offers a right to cure for small employers and requires an employee’s personal experience of violation.
