Unilever Manufacturing (US), Inc., of Sikeston, MO, is recalling 6,668 cases of Rocky Road Ice Cream because of undeclared allergens and mislabeled packaging.

The product, packaged in a Breyers Chocolate Truffle tub labeled as “may contain tree nuts” with a Rocky Road Ice Cream lid declaring almonds as an ingredient, may pose a risk to individuals with tree nut allergies.

The recall was initiated on June 2, 2025, and is ongoing, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is classified as a Class II recall, indicating a low risk of serious health consequences, though temporary or reversible effects may occur.

The recalled products were distributed to distribution centers and retail locations across the United States.

Recalled product:

  • Rocky Road Ice Cream
  • Description: Packaged in a Breyers Chocolate Truffle tub (1.5 qt) labeled “may contain tree nuts” with a Breyers Rocky Road Ice Cream lid declaring almonds as an ingredient

  • Code Information: Lot: JUL1026GB3, UPC: 077567457288
  • Recall Number: H-0017-2025
  • Classification: Class II

As of the posting of this recall, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported in connection with this product.

Consumers and businesses should not consume, sell, or distribute the recalled products and should check their inventories for the affected lot number and UPC code. Recalled products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.

About food allergies and mislabeling concerns

Undeclared allergens, such as tree nuts, can cause serious or life-threatening allergic reactions in individuals with tree nut allergies, including symptoms ranging from hives and digestive discomfort to anaphylaxis, a potentially fatal condition requiring immediate medical attention. Mislabeled products can also pose risks to consumers relying on accurate labeling for dietary or health needs. Individuals experiencing adverse reactions should seek medical care promptly.
