GBC Food Services recalls snack cups because of plastic contamination

GBC Food Services, LLC, of Farmers Branch, TX, is recalling Supreme Produce Apple & PB Snack Cup and Supreme Produce Celery & PB Snack Cup because of potential contamination with plastic foreign material. 

The recall, initiated on May 6, 2025, is classified as a Class II recall, indicating a low risk of serious health consequences, though temporary or reversible effects may occur. The recall remains ongoing, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recalled products were distributed to retail locations in Georgia, Michigan, Indiana and Tennessee.

Supreme Produce Apple & PB Snack Cup

  • Description: Net Wt: 8oz (226g), Keep Refrigerated, UPC: 8 50065-403 1, GBC Food Services, 14043 Distribution Way, Farmers Branch, TX
  • Code Information: Best By Dates: 4/12/2025 to 5/6/2025, located on package bottom label. Peanut butter to-go cup lot codes: D076F01, D085F01, D102F01
  • Product Quantity: 514 units total
  • Recall Number: H-0042-2025

Supreme Produce Celery & PB Snack Cup

  • Description: Net Wt: 9oz (255g), Keep Refrigerated, UPC: 8 50065-40308 3, GBC Food Services, 14043 Distribution Way, Farmers Branch, TX
  • Code Information: Best By Dates: 4/12/2025 to 5/6/2025, located on package bottom label. Peanut butter to-go cup lot codes: D076F01, D085F01, D102F01
  • Product Quantity: 514 units total
  • Recall Number: H-0041-2025

Consumers who have purchased the recalled snack cups are urged not to consume them. The products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.

About foreign object concerns

The presence of plastic in food products poses risks such as choking, oral injury, or gastrointestinal damage if ingested. Consumers experiencing adverse effects after consuming these products should seek medical attention promptly.
