On Wednesday, the Supreme Court considered whether people convicted of crimes abroad can be prohibited from owning a gun in the United States. US law forbids felons from owning guns with exceptions for anti-trust and trade violations, so the Court’s issue centers on whether Congress intended to include people convicted of crimes in “any court.” The Court’s debate is taking place without Chief Justice Rehnquist who is still ill.
