This past week I was pleased to attend a national program sponsored by the American Association of Justice’s Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group, of which I am a past chair, in Las Vegas.
We were honored to have Dr. Alan Elster, M.D., Chairman of Neuroradiology at Lake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. Dr. Elster is one of the world’s leading experts on CT and MRI. Over a day and a half, Dr. Elster presented to us the strengths and weaknesses of various diagnostic testing as well as sharing with us the future of neuroradiology and various tests which are being used to diagnose and objectively measure traumatic brain injury.
I am very excited about Diffuse Tensor Imaging as well as functional MRIs. The former documents damage to the brain fibers while the later is able to measure the functional impact of traumatic brain injury.
With this new information, I am very excited about being in a position to better serve my clients and objectively strengthen their cases.
