Welcome to the first post on the Connecticut Elder Law Blog! By way of introduction, I have been practicing law in Connecticut for nearly 10 years and I have focused my law practice exlcusively on the areas of elder law, estate planning and probate. These three areas are particularly relevant to those 50 and over, but I often help young families get their estate planning in order as well. I’m looking forward to using this blog to share my insights and experiences in this very interesting practice area. It will also serve as a resource for new developments in the law and other tidbits of information that I think might be of interest to most of my clients.

I also plan to occassionally throw in posts that have absolutely nothing to do with my law practice just to spice things up once in a while. Regular readers will quickly realize that my passions outside the practice of elder law include distance running, home improvement (Amy and I own a 19th century federal colonial) camping and anything that has to do with young kids (we have three little guys; Cameron is 7, Owen is 4 and Shane is 1).

And I certainly invite any comments you may want to share about any of my posts. My hope is that this blog will also serve as a forum for discussions on the myriad topics that fall under the “elder law” category. Or if you would rather not discuss things on the world wide web, then feel free to shoot me an e-mail.

Thanks for tuning in today and I hope you plan to join me again in the future!
