A congressional brain-injury task force initiated a new plan recently, stating that soldiers must be screened by computers before and after they go to Iraq or Afghanistan in order to assess whether or not they suffered traumatic brain damage during combat.
An impressive $450 million has been set aside for future tests and research on this issue. The slow initiate taken by Congress and the White House in the past has raised concern and increased pressure for future increased support for soldiers and their well-being.
