Ruth Vance has been named the recipient of the 2009 Distinguished Faculty Award at Valparaiso University School of Law. Ruth is an extraordinarily generous colleague, helping the field of legal writing in countless ways, large and small. She has previously been the Chair of the AALS Section on Legal Writing, Reasoning, and Research; she was a founding member of ALWD's Board of Directors; and she is serving on the Communications Skills Committee of the ABA's Section on Legal Education. Ruth is equally dedicated to her students and her colleagues at Valparaiso. This award is so well deserved! (spl)
