As of just before 4 p.m., Santa Clara line prosecutor Jeffrey Rosen was still narrowly holding onto his lead over incumbent District Attorney Dolores Carr, but by less than a percentage point.
They’re separated by about 1,700 votes, according to the county’s elections website.
A spokeswoman for the office said they expect to have 99 percent of the remaining ballots counted by Friday afternoon, and that after that, they have until July 6 to certify the election.
She said the vote count will be regularly updated on the elections website.
