Newly Appointed Franchisor CEO Continues as Franchisee

According to a recent post by Carol Tice to Bnet.com’s blog, On The News, Kansas-based franchisor Mr. Goodcents Subs & Pasta’s appointed David Goebel, a franchisee owner, as its new CEO. Ms. Tice goes on to say that Mr. Goebel intends to continue ownership of his Mr. Goodcents franchises while fulfilling his duties as CEO of the franchisor.

It is an interesting story of a franchisor’s attempt keep its highest ranked positions filled with competent leaders who hold knowledge of the actual franchise business. As Ms. Tice explains, this strategy may work to prevent the “us-verses-them mentality” that can develop between the franchisor and franchisees that often leads to class action lawsuits.
