Buenos Aires Herald: Lower House Committee takes first step on Abortion Legalization:
During the last day of the parliamentary year, the Lower House gave the first step on the bill that states the legalization of abortion. Advocacy Director for Human Rights Watch’s Women’s Rights Division Marianne Mollmann spoke before the Criminal Legislation committee and explained why she is in favour of the bill which posts the controversial legalization. Meanwhile, groups in favour and against the bill demonstrated in front of the Congress.
The main speaker of the session was Mollman, who said that there are “450 thousand abortions per year” in the country.
