Friends will remember Robin Rothrock as passionate champion of women's reproductive rights and an evocative artist.

Rothrock, 60, founder of Hope Medical Group for Women in Shreveport, died at her childhood home in Florida on Monday. She is survived by her son Michael and his wife, Gayleen; a sister, Susan Floyd and her husband, Charles Floyd; and a brother, Mark Heckendorf. Rothrock moved to Shreveport from Cocoa Beach,  Fla., at age 29 to open the Shreveport clinic, which at one time was the only abortion provider in a 400-mile area between Dallas and Jackson, Miss. . . .
