April 4, 2013: A collision between a Dump Truck and a SUV operated by an elderly woman has proven deadly. The accident reportedly occurred in Columbia, MO, when a dump truck executed a left turn into the path of the woman’s SUV, resulting in a collision. In such collisions, the massive weight of the commercial truck frequently results in tremendous force being applied to the occupants of the vehicles with which they collide. The force of the impact caused massive damage to the SUV, and responding rescue crews had to use hydraulic tools to cut the woman free of the wreckage. The SUV’s driver was rushed to a local hospital for care, but unfortunately, expired from her injuries. The driver of the dump truck reportedly declined medical attention at the scene.
