On November 14th, Chair White delivered the 5th Annual Judge Thomas A. Flannery Lecture. Her topic was The Importance of Trials to the Law and Public Accountability. Notably, Chair White declared, "[I]n this age of diminishing trials, we at the SEC may be about to reverse the trend a bit." As a securities law scholar who is interested in seeing the law develop, this is an exciting development.
