European Account Preservation Order: Council agrees on general approach on draft EAPO Regulation to facilitate cross-border debt recovery in civil and commercial matters

The Council of the EU has published a press release announcing that, in its configuration as the Justice and Home Affairs Council, it has agreed on a general approach on the proposal for a Regulation creating a European Account Preservation Order (EAPO) to facilitate cross-border debt recovery in civil and commercial matters. The next stage of the process will involve the European Parliament adopting the first reading position on 11 March 2014.
