On 13 May 2014, the Departments of Commerce and State issued interim final rules implementing substantial changes to U.S. satellite export controls. These changes, which follow the proposed rules issued on 24 May 2013, are expected to reduce significantly the administrative and licensing burdens associated with the current export control regime.
