Madison NJ Shoplifting LawyerPolice in Madison NJ recently arrested two individuals who allegedly shoplifting at local food stores.

The first shoplifting arrest was made in connection with an incident at the Stop & Shop food store on Main Street. Witnesses reportedly saw a 60-year-old local man removing several items from the store without paying for them. According to authorities, the stolen items had a value of roughly $130.

Store employees notified police of the theft. Shortly after an officer arrived at the store, he placed the suspect under arrest and charged him with shoplifting.

The suspect was eventually released from custody on his own recognizance. He will be required to answer the shoplifting charges in Madison Municipal Court.

A week after this shoplifting incident, Madison police arrested another person on suspicion of shoplifting.

According to police, a 44-year-old woman from Summit NJ stole several items from the Whole Foods Market on Main Street.

A loss prevention officer at the store allegedly saw the suspect steal more than $900 worth of merchandise from the market. The loss prevention officer notified Madison police, prompting an immediate response by an officer.

The police officer arrested the suspect, who was later charged with third degree shoplifting. If the suspect is ultimately convicted on these charges, she could be sentenced to 3–5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
