It is being touted as Boston’s version of Austin’s South by Southwest (SXSW). MIT, Harvard, the Boston Globe, and Massachusetts General Hospital last week announced that they are collaborating to launch an innovation festival, scheduled for October 3-10, 2015, in Boston. The festival has been named HUBweek, and is described on its website as, “a week long gathering to celebrate the big ideas and bold solutions that emerge from the people, openness, and intellectual energy found in Greater Boston.” In a press release on the event, MIT President L. Rafael Reif is quoted as saying, “By uniting so many of the region’s leading institutions, HUBweek itself embodies the open, collaborative spirit that has helped make Greater Boston and Cambridge a hotbed of innovation and new ideas.” We will be following the developments as the planning comes together for HUBweek, and will keep you updated.
