Bogota New Jersey DWI AttorneysPolice recently busted the Bogota recreation director for allegedly driving while intoxicated (DWI) and causing a DUI accident.

According to authorities, the 67-year-old suspect was involved in a DWI crash a short time before 6:00 p.m. The accident happened on River Road in Bogota, NJ.

The suspect reportedly caused the serious car accident when he swerved over a double yellow line on the road and collided with a car traveling north on the roadway.

Both drivers sustained injuries due to the car accident.

After the car crash, the suspect told emergency responders that he had leg pain. He was then taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where doctors provided medical treatment for his injuries.

The other driver was also transported to the hospital, where he received medical treatment for undisclosed injuries.

The suspect has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and careless driving.

The suspect currently serves as the recreation director for Bogota. He has filled this position for 14 years. The suspect is also on the Bogota Board of Education.

If the suspect is eventually convicted of drunk driving, he would face significant penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 39:4-50, a first offense DWI conviction could result in a sentence of up to 30 days in the county jail, as well as driver’s license suspension for a period of three months.
