Well, the new deal has been struck between the EU and the U.S. What was called the EU-US Safe Harbor is being replaced by the newly created EU-US Privacy Shield. Now, all we need is to have the actual text released!

So far, the only official information comes from the EU press office and Commerce Secretary Pritzker. For the EU press release, see http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_IP-16-216_en.htm. Secretary’s Pritzker’s comments can be found at https://www.commerce.gov/news/press-releases/2016/02/statement-us-secretary-commerce-penny-pritzker-eu-us-privacy-shield.
