The State Bar of Texas and Texas Young Lawyers Association invited local bar associations and young lawyer affiliates to participate in the statewide Law Day editorial, photo, and poster contests to celebrate the importance of law and its impact on our nation and local communities.
This year’s Law Day theme, Miranda: More than Words, encouraged student participants to explore why procedural protections are essential to liberty.
Contest winners will be recognized at the Law Day Celebration on Monday, May 2, 2016, at the Texas Law Center. The State Bar of Texas and TYLA will host the luncheon and present the awards to the winners. View the 2016 Law Day winners.
Dallas event
Judge Catharina Haynes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit will present the keynote address at the annual Law Day Luncheon sponsored by the Dallas Bar Association. The luncheon will take place at noon Friday, April 29, at the Pavilion at the Belo Mansion, 2101 Ross Ave., in downtown Dallas.
Students from Dallas ISD who won essay and art contests related to this year’s Law Day theme will receive their awards at the luncheon.
Open seating will begin at 11:45 a.m. Garage parking is available (enter from Olive Street). RSVPs and advance payment are required.
