Madison NJ Prescription Drug Distribution SuspectsA Madison New Jersey man was has been convicted on charges of distribution of prescription drugs.

The 44-year-old suspect was a pharmacist at Bottle Hill Pharmacy in Madison, NJ. He allegedly conspired with a doctor to sell prescription painkillers that were “highly addictive,” according to Morris County prosecutors.

The suspect is accused of selling oxycodone to customers who did not have prescriptions. He allegedly got paid in cash and then used a Madison NJ doctor to get fraudulent prescriptions to cover up the illegal drug activity.

Police opened an investigation into the suspect after getting an anonymous tip that he was selling prescription drugs on the black market. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) worked together on the joint investigation and used an undercover informant.

According to officials, the suspect illegally sold painkillers to the informant even though the informant did not have a valid prescription. This allegedly happened at least three times.

The suspect was eventually charged with a number of drug crimes, including third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and third degree conspiracy to distribute prescription medication.

The suspect was later convicted after a trial in Morris County Superior Court in Morristown, NJ. At the end of the trial, which lasted three week, the jury found the suspect guilty on the third degree felony charges.

Now the suspect faces a lengthy prison sentence when he returns to Morris County Superior Court in July for formal sentencing. It is possible that he will be sentenced to 3-5 years in NJ State Prison.
