We are pleased to announce that Troutman Sanders partners Ron Raether and David Anthony will be featured speakers at the American Bar Association’s Seventh Annual National Institute on Consumer Financial Services Basics on October 17-19 at the Waterview Conference Center in Arlington, Virginia.

Ron will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Financial Privacy and Data Security,” during which the presenters will cover key restrictions on the use and disclosure of consumer financial information, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act’s privacy provisions and the Affiliate Marketing Rule.  The panel will also examine federal and state laws requiring financial institutions to safeguard consumer information, and the impact of data security breaches on the financial services industry.

Ron also will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Cybersecurity,” during which the presenters will discuss heightened industry focus on cybersecurity, including federal and state developments on this topic.

David will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Fair Credit Reporting Act,” during which he will contribute to a discussion on the basis and purpose of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the regulation of consumer reporting agencies, and the use and furnishers of consumer report information.
