Madison New Jersey Assault LawyersA Union City man faces criminal charges for assaulting two police officers on a street in Madison, NJ.

The violent incident reportedly occurred in the area of Main Street and Greenwood Avenue around 8:35 a.m. The Madison Police Department sent two cops to the scene after getting a call about an assault. When the Madison NJ police officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering from minor injuries to the head and neck.

The victim told the officers that the suspect exited a white box truck, approached him, and knocked him down.

A witness gave Madison police officers the suspect’s license plate number, which enabled police to locate the suspect. The Madison NJ cops were questioning the suspect when he reportedly became angry and began to punch and kick the officers.

The Madison police officers were able to subdue the suspect and place him in handcuffs. He was subsequently taken to Madison police headquarters for processing.

The suspect, a 27-year-old resident of Union City, has been charged with several crimes, including aggravated assault on a police officer, simple assault, and resisting arrest.
