Paterson Mayor Corruption ChargesJose “Joey” Torres, the Paterson NJ mayor, recently turned him in to New Jersey State Police. Torres faces corruption charges and has been accused of arranging for city workers to help a relative.

Torres is a 58-year-old resident of Paterson NJ. He is also the mayor of the city.

According to Passaic County prosecutors, the suspect conspired to get city employees to do work on a property leased by his daughter.

Torres has been under intense pressure to resign from office, but he has made it clear that he will remain the mayor of the city while the criminal charges for corruption are pending.

Torres recently surrendered to authorities at NJ State Police headquarters. This followed the announcement that Torres had been indicted by a grand jury.

Other city employees have been charged in connection with the corruption case. Additionally, Torres’ daughter resigned from her position on the Passaic Valley Water Commission.
