Mahwah New Jersey Theft AttorneysMahwah New Jersey police officers arrested a local man who reportedly committed fraud when he kept $60K worth of high-end merchandise mistakenly delivered to his home.

The suspect is a 50-year-old man who bought an expensive home located in the Rio Vista section of Mahwah, NJ.

According to law enforcement officials, the suspect got nine packages in the mail from H.L. James, a luxury brand. The packages were reportedly supposed to be delivered to the previous owner of the Mahwah residence. Among the items included in the boxes was an alligator skin duffel bag, a passport wallet, and a backpack.

The high-end apparel is believed to have a total retail value of approximately $60,000.

The Mahwah Police Department got involved after the person who was supposed to receive the H.L. James shipments contacted authorities. The victim told law enforcement that FedEx tracking indicated that the items had been signed for by someone at her old house in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Mahwah NJ cops investigated the possible fraud incident and determined that the suspect might have used a false name to sign for the packages.

The suspect was arrested and charged with a number of crimes, including theft and forgery.

After being processed at Mahwah NJ police headquarters, the suspect was released with a pending court date to address the charges against him.
