Hackensack NJ Drug Crime SuspectA Hackensack NJ firefighter was placed under arrest and charged with illegal distribution of prescription drugs.

The suspect is a 35-year-old resident of Hackensack, NJ. He also works for the Hackensack Fire Department. According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect illegally distributed prescription painkillers “in and around” Hackensack, NJ.

The suspect has been accused of unlawfully selling oxycodone, a powerful painkiller, throughout Hackensack, NJ. Police opened an investigation after getting reports that the suspect sold drugs that led to an overdose on May 6 in Oakland, NJ.

The Hackensack Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office worked together on the investigation into the suspect and ultimately made the decision to arrest him.

If the suspect goes to trial and is convicted on the drug offense charges, he could be at risk of being sentenced to years in New Jersey State Prison.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was released from police custody on his own recognizance.
