Hawthorne NJ Robbery Law FirmA Little Falls man is likely headed to prison after he recently admitted to robbing a bank in Hawthorne, NJ.

The suspect, a 45-year-old man from Little Falls, NJ, allegedly committed the theft offense on February 17, 2016 at a TD Bank located in Hawthorne.

According to law enforcement, the suspect walked into the bank, approached a teller, and gave the bank employee a note that demanded cash.

The suspect reportedly stole $1,360 before walking out of the bank and fleeing the scene in a car with Pennsylvania license plates.

Police soon arrived at the scene to investigate and later found the suspect’s getaway vehicle being driven by another man. That man eventually admitted to his role in the Hawthorne NJ bank robbery.

Meanwhile, the main suspect was charged with a federal crime for bank robbery. Since the suspect did not use a handgun during the bank robbery, however, federal prosecutors did not charge him with any weapons offenses.

The suspect managed to avoid trial in the theft crime case by reaching a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The suspect recently pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery.

He will have to appear in U.S. District Court, located in Newark, in September for an official sentencing hearing. At that time, he will face a potential sentence of 20 years behind bars and a $250K fine.
