Newark NJ Assault AttorneysNewark NJ police recently captured two men who were allegedly responsible for a double shooting on a local street.

The violent shooting happened around 2:00 p.m. on the 700 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard in Newark’s Central Ward. The Newark Police Department later got a call from employees at University Hospital, which is located in Newark NJ, to alert police that two victims of a shooting had shown up at the hospital. The injured parties reportedly arrived at the Newark hospital at 2:40 p.m.

Newark police officers went to the medical facility and talked to the victims. Detectives eventually determined that two men, a 35-year-old Irvington resident and a 37-year-old East Orange resident, had committed the shooting.

Members of the Newark Fugitive Apprehension Team then found the suspects in Newark and arrested them.

The two shooting suspects have been charged with numerous criminal offenses, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and criminal weapons charges like possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Moreover, one of the suspects also faces criminal charges for receiving stolen property.
