Paterson law enforcement is investigating a shooting on a local street that resulted in a teenager sustaining serious injuries.
The violent shooting happened a short time after 10:30 p.m. According to Passaic County NJ law enforcement officials, the 15-year-old victim was walking on Carroll Street in Paterson NJ when someone used a firearm to shoot in his direction.
The victim is a 15-year-old who lives in Paterson, New Jersey. After being shot, the teenage victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for a gunshot wound. Fortunately, he is expected to survive his injuries.
Paterson detectives canvassed the area around the site of the shooting, but police could not find the shooter.
The Paterson Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office are actively investigating the shooting incident. If police identify and apprehend the person responsible for the shooting, that individual could be subject to aggravated assault charges and criminal weapons charges like unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
