Murder at Orange NJ White CastlePolice officers are looking into a fatal shooting near a White Castle restaurant located in Orange, NJ.

The violent shooting happened around 11:00 p.m. on the 200 block of Scotland Road in Orange, New Jersey. Someone used a firearm to shoot the victim as he walked along the street. After being shot, the victim went inside the White Castle and got workers to call for an ambulance.

Paramedics soon arrived at the scene and rushed the victim to University Hospital, where he died roughly 15 minutes after the shooting incident.

The homicide victim was a 24-year-old man from Orange in Essex County, New Jersey.

This was the first homicide to occur in Orange so far this year. Around the same time last year, there were already five reported homicides.

Essex County detectives are investigating this murder and searching for suspects.

If police can eventually identify and apprehend a suspect, that individual would likely be charged with first degree murder and weapons offenses.
