Newark New Jersey police recently apprehended a man who allegedly used a gun to shoot someone at a home in the city’s East Ward.
The suspect is a 22-year-old resident of Newark in Essex County, NJ. According to law enforcement officials, the suspect fired multiple gunshots at a home near the intersection of Tichenor Street and Orchard Street just after 2:00 a.m.
Newark NJ cops were sent to the site of the shooting, but the shooter had already fled the area by the time police got there.
Newark detectives investigated the violent incident and tried to identify the shooter. The Newark Police Department caught a break in the investigation when police received an anonymous tip. The suspect was later captured at a home on Seabury Street in Newark, NJ.
The suspect faces multiple criminal charges, including charges for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
